I’m 32 and live in Norwich with my husband and my dog. I tend to work in my little home office while my dog naps by my feet, or keeps watch out of the window. I occasionally mix it up with a day at the office in St George’s Works, WFG (working from garden) or WFBC (working from a Breadsource café!).

Outside work, you might find me back in a café or a bookshop in the Norwich lanes, walking my dog along the coast, or at home with friends over for dinner.

Why I focus on helping sole traders

The projects I’ve found the most rewarding over the last 10 years are the ones where I’ve helped an individual establish a reliable self-employed income. I feel like I’m making a difference on a more personal level, and I get to make positive changes quickly and see the direct impact my efforts have on people's working lives.

I love learning about people’s professional backgrounds and how striking out on their own will improve their lives - whether it’s to pursue a life-long goal, manage work around their family, or spend more time on the work they find the most fulfilling.

It took me a long time to try going self-employed, and I can empathise with others’ hesitations around doing so. I thought I had to do everything and think of everything myself. But that’s not the case. I brought in other expertise where I felt less confident, such as an accountant for my tax returns. I asked friends, family and former colleagues for their honest feedback on my work. I speak to other people in my industry and swap ideas. Working alone doesn’t have to be lonely.

I can provide support and expertise when it comes to your online presence, so you can focus on getting the rest of your business set up and feel confident about going self-employed.
